A FREE FESTIVAL CELEBRATING OUR EARTH

In the Grandin Village find seedlings for sale and dozens of Environmental Education Booths along with Food and the Children's Area

We’re taking it to the street,  April 21, 10 AM - 4 PM    between Viva La Cupcake,  Rke Natural Foods Co-op up to Reeds Furniture and Surf & Turf Restaurant.

The number of environmental groups associated with BREN, and who have participated in Earth Day have ranged from 20 – almost 50 groups. Earth Day Roanoke has been held in different Roanoke Parks around the city and lately has been held in the Grandin Village. Some of the past locations include: Wasena Park, Mill Mountain Park, Explore Park, and Highland Park. It is a grassroot citizens festival and not run by DRI, so please sign up and help if you can. Each year, opportunities change and expand according to the people who get involved. We can add more arts and crafts for example or other ideas if you are interested. Festival areas generally include: Children’s activities, Education Booths, Food, Entertainment inlcluding Music and Art happenings, Healthy Demonstrations (Yoga, Martial Arts) and Hands on Ecological Models (Composting Displays),  Advertisement (including press releases, social media, and pre-festival attractions), set up and clean up….more.
